Raymond Chow graduated with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Music Performance from University of North Texas, USA. He pursued further studies at Stony Brook University, where he taught as Teaching Assistant in 2010. A recipient of several scholarships, Raymond studied piano with Gustavo Romero, harpsichord with Lenora McCroskey and music history with Sarah Fuller. He has also received instructions from pianists Adam Wodnicki, Joseph Banowitz and Ian Pace. In 2006 and 2007, Raymond served as Staff Accompanist for the College of Music, and Department of Dance and Theatre at University of North Texas. He was company pianist for the Singapore Dance Theatre in 2011 – 2012.A versatile musician, Raymond has experience performing a wide range of music. As a harpsichordist, he appeared in the Boston Early Music Festival in 2007, performing in a programme of early music from Peru; in the same year, he performed as continuo player for a production of Cavalli’s opera L’Egisto in the US. As vocal coach and accompanist, Raymond recently participated in the L.T.L. Opera Studio at Teatro Verdi di Pisa in Italy, collaborating in a production of Nino Rota’s opera Napoli Milionaria. He has also performed at the Impuls Festival for Contemporary Music, Austria, presenting music by French composer Gerard Grisey, and premiered works by emerging composer Luiz F. Malucelli. In the local music scene, Raymond collaborated with composer John Sharpley in a lecture-recital last year at the Esplanade Library. He has served as External Music Examiner for Lasalle College of the Arts; and invited to adjudicate at the First Ars Nova Piano Competition 2012.
