Rachel Hollis (and her brand) is an ongoing fascination for me and this episode digs into the material in a captivating manner that kept me enthralled. Willison, in particular, adds an emotional nuance to the analysis of Hollis' writing about trauma.
Just two librarians who love trashing on the bestsellers. As a former bookseller sold a lot of trashy books, this was right up my alley. I really enjoyed the hosts, they have a great rapport and clearly express views of what they enjoy/hate.Some episodes can drag on but if you catch the episodes where they express outright love (or hate), the hosts' enthusiasm is infectious.
The hosts sold me on this celeb memoir. I'd heard buzz about McConaughey's book but figured it was just bloated nonsense. But the hosts loved this book and made me want to read it. They described McConaughey's voice as being completely bonkers but it turned the book an enjoyable romp instead of tedious, self-important drudgery. It's clear that the hosts had a great time with this book and their rapport was fun to listen to.
